本單元以Traditional life為話題，設計內(nèi)容。旨在通過單元使學生學會談論不同國家和地區(qū)的風俗習慣；了解英國的風俗；學會表達“應該與不應該做的事情”；能就中國的風俗習慣進行寫作；能給外賓提供一些建議，使他們了解中國的風俗習慣。
Unit 1 聽錄音，對照圖片學習一些物品的名稱，聽錄音并讀對話，從送禮物引出不同國家的不同的風俗習慣，初步了解must, mustn’t, can, can’t的用法。Listening and vocabulary中活動1、2通過圖片標號、配對的形式學習單元詞匯。3是關于不同國家風俗習慣的對話。4、5根據(jù)對話內(nèi)容完成判斷、填空等任務。Pronunciation and speaking中6學習含有must句型的賭法。7、8根據(jù)所給情景列舉自己必須做或不允許做的事并講給小組內(nèi)伙伴聽。

教學反思：本節(jié)課規(guī)則和習俗這樣話題，展開聽說讀寫一系列語言實踐活動，其語言功能是用must,mustn't,can和 can't表述某地或某場所的風俗習慣與規(guī)章制度。本節(jié)課是一聽說課，同時兼顧讀寫，以培養(yǎng)學生的聽說能力為主，能為來中國家庭做客的外國朋友提出建議，學生通過學習，也能夠就自己的家規(guī)、校規(guī)等話題做表述。本節(jié)課本著低起點、多層次的原則設計了九個環(huán)節(jié)，培養(yǎng)了學生自學與合作學習的能力，發(fā)揮了多媒體課件的輔助作用，取得了較好的教學效果。

Some British and American people like to invite friends for a meal at home. You should not be upset（不安的）if your English friends don’t invite you home. It doesn’t mean they don’t like you.
Dinner parties usually start between 7 and 8 p.m. and end at about 11. Ask your hosts what time you should arrive. It’s polite to bring flowers, chocolates or a bottle of wine as a gift.
