I don’t like talking openly about my feelings. That’s probably why I am writing this, because it seems an easier way of telling you how thankful I am to you.
When I first got ill two years ago and had to be taken to hospital, you were the first person I called to tell, maybe because I knew Mum wasn’t going to answer her phone, but probably because you are the first person I call in an emergency.
As one illness turned into another and I was stuck in hospital for weeks, feeling sorry for myself, you were still at my beside trying to talk to me to cheer me up. The illness hit my kidney(腎) and we then realized that I was going to need a transplant sooner or later. You put yourself forward to be tested as soon as possible and it turned out you were a perfect match.
Then last year, in March, we both went down for the operation. I woke a few hours afterwards and felt better. It wasn’t until the following day that we got to see each other again. We hugged silently and asked one another how we were. But I never said the words I should have--- thank you. To this day, I still haven’t said those words to you for my kidney.
In the month after the operation, when we were both at home recovering, I made you lunch, went for walks with you. It’s my way of saying that I care for you a great deal and that I am truly thankful for what you did for me.
I want you to know that my silence towards you and the times you tried to talk to me and got nothing weren’t because of you. Maybe one day when you will read this, I hope you know that in my own silent way, I am for ever thankful.

Now students’ English handwriting gets worse and worse. Their teachers worry about that. Is your English handwriting beautiful? If not, here are four steps that really work!
Use paper with lines
Using paper with lines can keep you writing straight instead of up or down when you write English words or sentences. Those lines on the paper can help you to write words in the right size. Be  sure to fill the lined space completely. And remember that those capital letters are written properly.
Slow down
If your writing is hard to read, try slowing down a little. For s ome kids, going a little slowly makes the handwriting clear. If you write too fast, it’s hard for you to stop where you should, and even worse, you may make more mistakes.
Hold your pencil correctly
When you hold your pencil correctly, writing is much easier. Some kids press down really hard when they write. That makes  the handwriting not nice. Try to be relaxed and don’t hold the pencil so hard. Let your writing appear nice and clean. If you do so, people will guess you are a student with a good habit.
Draw more pictures
Drawing can improve your handwriting. You need to use the skills to control your pencil better when you are drawing pictures. Even though you have no chance to draw at school, you can practice by yourself at home.
Handwriting is very important. Imagine you are a world-famous movie star or a well-known sports player, what do you do when your fans run up to you? Give them your autographs, of course!

Chris is not a traditional explorer---he usually works in an office for a large organization. Yet his job can sometimes be just as exciting and dangerous as being an explorer.
Chris works for MSF, an organization also known as Doctors Without Borders(國(guó)界). MSF sends trained doctors all over the world to help people after a war or a disaster. Chris is a doctor from France who has traveled to many places to organize programs that help people.
At the moment, there are over 27,000 trained medical staff taking part in MSF projects and tasks. The organization received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999. All kinds of doctors can volunteer for MSF. They need to be prepared to go almost anywhere in the world and, of course, they should expect difficult conditions. Doctors with experience in tropical(熱帶的) diseases are especially useful because most of MSF’s work is in Africa. When MSF accepts a doctor for a task, he has to go for at least six months. When doctors have completed a few tasks, they might be sent on an emergency task following a disaster, such as an earthquake.
But why would a doctor leave a comfortable life and a good salary to join MSF? According to Chris, the experience you gain is a great help in your career. Besides, just like the explorers of the past, you need to keep an open mind and learn to mix well with the people you meet. Most importantly, at the end of each task, you have made a real difference to people’s lives.
56. Does Chris work for a large organization?

57. When does MSF send trained doctors all over the world to help people?

59. What kind of doctors are greatly needed in Africa?

One possible version:
Dear Editor,
I am writing to tell you about the survey on the activity of “Grabbing red packets” in our class. Most of the students took part in the game in my class. About 75% of them think it can bring them more fun and they can make more friends. However, about 25% of them are worried about the activity. They say some people spend too much time grapping red packets. Moreover, they don’t have enough communication with their family members. As a result, they may feel a little lonely.
I think this game is really exciting, but we should spend more time communicating with our family members.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
