在英語中，介詞是一種用來表示詞與詞、詞與句之間的關(guān)系的詞。它在句中不能單獨作句子成分，后面一般有名詞代詞或相當于名詞的其他詞類、短語或從句作它的賓語。介詞主要分為簡單介詞和復雜介詞兩大類，復雜介詞可以包含兩個、三個甚至四個單詞，分別簡稱為“雙詞介詞”、“三詞介詞”和“四詞介詞”。

一、簡單介詞：

1.表示地點：at ,in, on, to, above, over,below, under, beside, behind , between

2.表示時間：in , on，at, after, from, since for, behind

3.表示運動：across, through, past, to, towards, onto, into, up, down

4.表示進行：at, under, on

5.表示其他：on, about, by, with, in

二、復雜介詞：

1.雙詞介詞：指由兩個單詞構(gòu)成的復雜介詞。

according to 按照 irrespective of 不顧

ahead of 在...之前 owing to 由于

but for 要不是 together with 與...一起

prior to 在...之前 as for 至于

save for 除了 what with 由于

2.三詞介詞：指由三個單詞構(gòu)成的復雜介詞。

in line with 與...一致 in place of 代替

for lack of 因缺少 in return for 對...的回報

by way of 經(jīng)由，作為 on account of 由于

by force of 憑借 with respect to 關(guān)于

3.四詞介詞：指由四個單詞構(gòu)成的復雜介詞。

for the purpose of 為了...的目的 at the mercy of 受...的擺布

for the sake of 為了 in the care of 由...照管

in the teeth of 不顧，逆著 on the eve of 在...的前夕

on the ground of 根據(jù) on the part of 在...方面

to the exclusion of 把...排除在外 with an eye to 為了

under the auspices of 在...的支持下 under the guise of 在...的幌子下
