1. 當(dāng)比較級后接名詞時，比較級前可能用冠詞，此時的冠詞不是修飾比較級，而是修飾其后的名詞。如：

2. 當(dāng)要特指兩者中“較(更)…”時，比較級前通常要帶定冠詞，此時可視為比較級后省略了有關(guān)的名詞或代詞one，即定冠詞實為修飾被省略的名詞或代詞one。如：
Of the two brothers, the younger is more clever. 在這兩兄弟中，年輕的這個更。
3. 用于“the+比較級，the+比較級”，表示“越…越…”。如：
The sooner, the better. 越快越好。
The more a man has, the more he wants. 人越有越想要。
