adv.(副詞)
therefore的意思是“因此,為此,所以”,是副詞,引導(dǎo)結(jié)果、結(jié)局或結(jié)論,不能誤作連詞用。
therefore可引出一個(gè)獨(dú)立句,但不能連接兩個(gè)句子,因此當(dāng)therefore前沒(méi)有and等連詞時(shí),前面須用分號(hào)。
連接副詞therefore用于句首時(shí)后面無(wú)需逗號(hào),若位于句中前面可加也可不加逗號(hào)。
therefore也可用于推理,作“故…,由此得出”解。
用作副詞 (adv.) We do not have enough money. Therefore we can not afford to buy the new car.

I was ill, and therefore I could not come.
