observant的基本意思是“觀察力敏銳的”，即留心的，機警的，有注意力的，立即察覺的，也可指對法律、規(guī)章、習俗、傳統(tǒng)等“嚴格遵守的”。
observant在句中可用作定語，也可用作表語，用作表語時其后可接for、 in、 of等引起的介詞短語，也可接動詞不定式。
