another常用在單數(shù)形式的可數(shù)名詞前。也可以用作是代名詞，后不接名詞。修飾不可數(shù)的復(fù)數(shù)名詞時(shí)，通常用more。

another等于是an加other，因此不能說(shuō)the another desk ， that another desk等，里面的another都該改作other；
another指“另外的任何一個(gè)”，加上原本的那個(gè)，心里應(yīng)至少有三個(gè)，才有任何一個(gè)的可能，因此不適用于只有兩個(gè)時(shí)，如不能說(shuō)I have two brothers, one is twenty, and another is fifteen ，應(yīng)用the other代替；

當(dāng)other用在名詞前時(shí)，不可用復(fù)數(shù)形式others。不用在名詞前，單用時(shí)，可用復(fù)數(shù)形式。通常情況下，others只用來(lái)指代前面已經(jīng)提過(guò)的名詞，不過(guò)有一個(gè)例外是，人們習(xí)慣用(the) others 指 (the) other people。

another這個(gè)形容詞是由an和other兩詞合綴而成,因此它不能加冠詞或其他限定性的形容詞。
