v.(動詞)
summarize的基本意思是“總結(jié),概述”,指從眾多的事物或現(xiàn)象中歸納出其本質(zhì)或規(guī)律,以利于更好地去理解,強調(diào)提綱挈領(lǐng)而無細(xì)節(jié)。
summarize用作及物動詞,接名詞或代詞作賓語,有時還可接帶疑問詞的從句作賓語。
summarize可用于被動結(jié)構(gòu)。
summarize不可用于“summarize sb sth ”結(jié)構(gòu),其間接賓語可用介詞for引出。例如:
她向全班概述了故事情節(jié)。誤:She summarized the class the plot.誤:She summarized the plot to the class.正:She summarized the plot for the class.
