教材分析：
本課是第十五單元第3 課，經(jīng)過前面兩課的學習，學生已經(jīng)對教育和學校的話題有更深入的感受和認識。本課課文是Graham Lawrence對他的學生時代學業(yè)的回顧，特別是對他的老師Brian Jenkins對他的幫助的感謝；還有一段他的老師Brian Jenkins對他的學生Graham的回憶短文。通過閱讀，學生將從學生和老師不同角度體會教師的工作和他們工作的價值。本課難度不大，學生本身就有很多的師生交流的體驗。學生在本課中，要領會自信和興趣是成功的關鍵，同時認識到在一個人的成長中老師的作用是至關重要的。本課的重點是通過閱讀師生兩個人的回顧，學習相關的詞匯和表達法，并在此基礎上，用自己的語言向他人介紹曾給自己幫助很大的某個老師。本課的語法是I wish構成的虛擬句式。本課重點是讓學生理解并記住該虛擬句式的動詞變化形式，并能在語境中使用。
本課計劃分兩課時進行：第一課時通過略讀和細讀，提取、組織有關師生雙方的經(jīng)歷和體會的相關信息并能進行表達，學習和體會相關詞匯的用法，體驗I wish構成的虛擬句式在語篇中的運用；第二課時的重點是觀察、歸納I wish構成的虛擬句式在語境中的區(qū)別和用法，并能在語言實踐中使用該虛擬句式表達自己曾經(jīng)歷過的后悔經(jīng)歷。
