　　1. “Don’t you believe me?” “______, I’ll believe _______ you say.”
　　A. No; whatever B. Yes; no matter what

　　【陷阱】容易誤選A。認為Yes 永遠譯為“是”，No 永遠譯為“不”。
　　【分析】最佳答案選D。在回答否定疑問句時，要特別注意 yes, no 的正確理解。回答yes 時，可視為 yes, I do 之類的省略形式;回答 no 時，可視為 no, I don’t 之類的省略形式。針對上題而言，“Don’t you believe me?”的意思是“你難道不相信我?”其答句 “Yes, I do” 的實際意思便是“不，我相信你”，這與 I’ll believe whatever you say 的意思完全吻合。注意，第二空不宜填 no matter what，因為它只能引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句，不能引導(dǎo)賓語從句。請再看類似試題：

　　【分析】最佳答案選A。做對此題要注意兩點：一是would you mind 后接 if 從句時，從句謂語通常要用一般過去時(但 Do you mind if 后的謂語不用過去式);二是對 would you mind… 的回答實際上是對 mind(介意)的回答，即肯定回答表示“介意”，否定回答表示“不介意”。請做以下類似試題：

　　答案選D。根據(jù)下文的 Go to the smoking room, please 可知說話者介意對方抽煙，故選D。

　　答案選B。注意答句中的 no 和 go ahead：no 表否定，否定 mind，即表示“不介意”，這與其后 go ahead 表示的同意剛好吻合。
　　3. “Haven’t seen you for ages! Do you still work in Guangzhou?” “_______. It’s two years since I worked there.”

　　【陷阱】幾個干擾項均有可能誤選。
　　【分析】最佳答案為 D。要做對此題，首先要正確理解 It’s two years since I worked there 的意思。按英語習(xí)慣，since用作連詞時，它所引導(dǎo)從句的謂語通常應(yīng)是非延續(xù)性動詞，若為延續(xù)性動詞或狀態(tài)動詞，則它所表示的動作或狀態(tài)的應(yīng)是其完成或結(jié)束(而不是其開始)。如：
　　I haven’t heard from him since he lived in Beijing.
　　正譯：自從他離開北京以來，我一直未收到他的信。
　　誤譯：自從他住在北京以來，我一直未收到他的信。
　　He has never come to see me since I was ill.
　　正譯：自我病愈以來他還沒來看過我。
　　誤譯：自我生病以來他還沒來看過我。
　　由此可見，上面一題中It’s two years since I worked there 的實際意思是“我沒在那兒工作已有兩年了”。弄清此句的意思后，再結(jié)合上下文的語境，答案選D就不難理解了。
　　4. “I’ve never found a better job.” “_____.”
　　A. I don’t think so B. Too bad
　　C. Congratulations D. Don’t worry
　　【陷阱】容易誤選B或D，主要是將上文的意思理解錯了，即將其理解為“我從來沒找到一份好工作”。
　　【分析】最佳答案為 C。I’ve never found a better job 的實際意思是“這是我所找到的最好的一份工作”，可視為 I’ve never found a better job than this job (我從來沒有找到比這份工作更好的工作，即這是我所找到的最好的工作)省略。只要正確理解了這話的實際含義，答案選C也就不難理解了。請再看兩題：
　　(1) “How do you like the food in this restaurant?” “Oh, _______. We couldn’t have found a better place.”
　　A. too bad B. sorry
　　C. wonderful D. impossible
　　答案選 C。We couldn’t have found a better place 的實際意思是“這是我們所能找到的最好的地方”，可視為 We couldn’t have found a better place than this place 之省略。
　　(2) “How do you like the food in this restaurant?” “Oh, _______. We couldn’t have found a worse place.”
　　A. too bad B. sorry
　　C. wonderful D. impossible
　　答案選 A。此題與上面一題僅差一詞，即將 better 改成了 worse。We couldn’t have found a worse place 可視為 We couldn’t have found a worse place than this place 之略，其意是說“我們不能找到一個比這個地方更好糟的地方了”，言外之意，“這是最糟的地方”。
