5．a(chǎn)go / before

　　ago 是副詞，意思“是……以前”。它指從此刻起若干時(shí)間以前，通常與過去時(shí)連用。例如：

　　It happened two days ago．這件事發(fā)生在兩天以前。

　　I met him a few minutes ago．我在幾分鐘以前碰到他。

　　before 也可以用作副詞，表示“…...以前”，但它是指從那時(shí)起若干時(shí)間以前，與完成式連用。例如：

　　He said that he had seen her two days before．他說他兩天以前見到她。（這里表示從他說話那時(shí)起兩天以前）

　　It had been fine the day before.（那天）前一天的天氣很好。

　　此外，before 也可以泛指以前，與完成式或過去時(shí)連用。例如：

　　I've seen that film before．我以前看過那部影片。

　　I never met him before．我以前從未見過他。

　　另外，before還可以用作前置詞或連接詞表示時(shí)間，ago 不能這樣用。

　　6．a(chǎn)lso / too / either

　　also 意思是“也”，是比too較為正式的用語，通常用于肯定句中，一般靠近動(dòng)詞。例如。

　　I also went. 我也去的。

　　too 意思也是“也”，是最普通的用語，常與also通用，但不如also正式，在口語中它用得更多。too通常放句末，但有時(shí)為了不致引起含糊不清的感覺，把它緊放在所修飾的詞之后。它也通常用于肯定句中。例如：

　　I went there, too．我也到那兒去的。

　　Mother was angry too．母親也發(fā)怒了。

　　I, too, have been to Paris．我也去過巴黎。（這里明確表示人家去過巴黎，我也去過。而不是除了去過某地以外，還去過巴黎。）

　　either 意思也是也。它用于否定句中，而且要放在句末。例如：

　　If you do not go，I shall not either．倘若你不去，我也不去。

　　I have not seen him either．我也沒有看見過他。

　　I haven't been there yet，either．我也沒有去過那兒。
