◆equipment n.
表示“裝備”、“設(shè)備”、“配備”，是一個不可數(shù)名詞的集合名詞，若要表示一件或幾件設(shè)備，可借助單位詞 piece。如：
We have all the equipment we need now. 我們需要的設(shè)備現(xiàn)在都有了。
It is a useful piece of equipment and I want to have itrepaired. 這是一件很有用的設(shè)備，我想拿去把它修一修。
其它搭配：sports equipment(體育器材)，farm equipment (農(nóng)用設(shè)備)，heating equipment(供暖設(shè)備)，radar equipment(雷達(dá)裝置)，photographic equipment(照相器材)等
◆escape v.
1. 表示“逃走”或“逃脫”，已含有“脫離”的意思，因此通常不與 away, off 等副詞連用。如：
小偷逃走了。
誤：The thief has escaped away.
正：The thief has escaped.
2. 下列情況，通常是不及物動詞，其后可接介詞 from：
(1) 表示從具體的某一場所逃走。如：
They escaped from the burning house (prison). 他們從著火的房子里(監(jiān)獄里)逃了出來。
(2) 表示液體或氣體等漏出或泄漏。如：
Some gas is escaping from the pipe. 煤氣管在漏氣。
(3) 表示從監(jiān)禁或管制等狀態(tài)中逃脫或逃走。如：
A lion has escaped from its cage. 有一只獅子從籠子里逃走了。
The boy longed to escape from his mother’s domination. 這男孩渴望擺脫母親的操縱。
3. 下列用法，通常是及物動詞，其后無需接介詞 from 或其它介詞：
(1) 表示被遺忘或未被注意等。如：
Nothing escaped his attention. 任何東西逃不過他的注意。
I’ve met her before, but her name escapes me. 我以前見過她，但她的名字我忘記了。
(2) 表示逃避或躲避不愉快的事(如危險，處罰，不幸，災(zāi)難等)。如：
He tried to escape punishment. 他設(shè)法躲避懲罰。
Where can we go to escape the crowds? 我們到哪里才能避開這些人群?
若后接動詞，要用動名詞，而不能用不定式。如：
He narrowly escaped being drowned. 他險些被溺死。
There is no way to escape doing the work. 沒有辦法逃脫做這項(xiàng)工作。
注：逃避或躲避監(jiān)禁或管制等不愉快的事，是及物動詞，其后無需用介詞；但若是指從監(jiān)禁或管制等狀態(tài)中逃脫或逃走，則為不及物動詞，其后可接介詞(如 from 等)。比較：
He escaped prison. 他躲避了監(jiān)禁(即本該入獄但逃避了)。
He escaped from prison. 他越獄了(即已經(jīng)入獄但逃走了)。
◆especially adv.
1. 表示“特別地”，用于修飾形容詞或副詞，強(qiáng)調(diào)程度。如：
It is especially cold today. 今天特別冷。
I’m feeling especially tired this evening. 今天晚上我特別累。
有時也修飾動詞。如：
I especially want to see that film. 我特別想看那部電影。
2. 用于強(qiáng)調(diào)目的，意為“特意”、“專門”，通常與表目的的不定式或介詞 for 短語連用。如：
We bought it especially for you. 這是我們特意為你買的。
The book is written especially for children. 這本書是專門為孩子們寫的。
3. 表示陳述某一事實(shí)之后，列舉一個具有代表性的例子，作進(jìn)一步強(qiáng)調(diào)，其后可接名詞、介詞短語、從句等。如：
We want to invite some friends, especially Jim and John. 我們想邀請幾個朋友，尤其是吉姆和約翰。
This street is very crowd, especially on Sundays. 這條街很擁擠，尤其是星期天。
I hate interruptions, especially when I’m trying to work.
我討厭別人打擾，尤其是當(dāng)我要工作的時候。
