To harp on about something 喋喋不休
如果某人總對同一件事抱怨連篇,而且你并不同意這個(gè)人的看法,我們就可以用表達(dá)harp on about something來形容此人喋喋不休、嘮叨不停的樣子。
例句:
I wish he'd stop harping on about the website design. It's perfectly fine but he's insisting we change it.
I don't think I can come out tonight. My partner's harping on about how we need to save money for our holiday and I shouldn't be doing things like going out and enjoying myself.
Stop harping on about tidying my office. I'll get around to it when I've got the time. I'm just really busy at the moment.
注意:
另一個(gè)類似的表達(dá)to go on about something也有某人重復(fù)性地說同一個(gè)話題的意思,但它和to harp on about something的區(qū)別是此人并不一定是在發(fā)牢騷。
例句:
Why do you keep going on about it? We can't change it, so let's just forget it.
She keeps going on about her old boyfriend. I don't think she's over him yet.
