錯(cuò)點(diǎn)一 誤用不定式作賓語(yǔ)

要表示漢語(yǔ)的“建議做某事”，英語(yǔ)通常用 suggest doing sth，而不能用 suggest to do sth。如：

他建議坐飛機(jī)去，可我認(rèn)為這樣花費(fèi)太大。

正：He suggested going by plane, but I thought it would cost too much.

誤：He suggested to go by plane, but I thought it would cost too much.

湯姆建議把房子賣(mài)了，但是安表示反對(duì)。

正：Tom suggested selling the house but Ann was against it.

正：Tom suggested to sell the house but Ann was against it.

錯(cuò)點(diǎn)二 誤接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)作賓語(yǔ)

漢語(yǔ)通常說(shuō)“建議某人做某事”，但英語(yǔ)習(xí)慣上不能說(shuō) suggest sb to do sth，而說(shuō)suggest sb’s [sb] doing sth。也就是說(shuō)，suggest 后不僅不接不定式，而且也不接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)。如：

他建議我們?cè)琰c(diǎn)動(dòng)身。

正：He suggested that we leave earlier.

誤：He suggested us to leave earlier.

當(dāng)然，我們也可以用后接 that 從句的形式來(lái)表達(dá)此意思(注意謂語(yǔ)用 “should+動(dòng)詞原形”這樣的虛擬語(yǔ)氣形式)。如：

I suggest that we (should) have lunch right now. 我建議我們現(xiàn)在就吃午飯。

He suggests that we should all go to see the film. 他建議我們都去看電影。

比較以下同義表達(dá)：

他建議他們?cè)跊](méi)有聽(tīng)到事實(shí)真相之前什么都別說(shuō)。

正：He suggested (should) not saying anything till they heard the facts.

正：He suggested saying nothing about it till they heard the facts.

正：He suggested that they shouldn’t say anything till they heard the facts.

錯(cuò)點(diǎn)三 混用其后賓語(yǔ)從句的語(yǔ)氣

suggest 后接賓語(yǔ)從句時(shí)，從謂語(yǔ)既可用陳述語(yǔ)氣，也可用虛擬語(yǔ)氣，其區(qū)別與 suggest所表示的意思有關(guān)：

1. 若suggest 表示“建議”，則其后接的 that 從句謂語(yǔ)通常用“(should)+動(dòng)詞原形”這樣的虛擬語(yǔ)氣形式。如：

I suggested that she should go home. 我建議她回家去。

She suggested that I (should) be the leader. 她提議由我來(lái)做領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人。

2. 若suggest 表示“暗示”“意指”“表明”等義，則其后接的 that 從句要用陳述語(yǔ)氣。如：

What he said suggested that he was a cheat. 他說(shuō)的話表明他是個(gè)騙子。

Are you suggesting that I’m not suited for the job? 你的意思是說(shuō)我不適合做這工作?

錯(cuò)點(diǎn)四 其后誤接雙賓語(yǔ)

要表示向某人提出某情況，suggest后不能接雙賓語(yǔ)，即不能用suggest sb sth，而通常用 suggest sth to sb。如：

我向她提出一個(gè)解決問(wèn)題的辦法。

正：I suggested a way out to her.

誤：I suggested her a way out.

若其中的直接賓語(yǔ)比較復(fù)雜(比如是that 從句)時(shí)，可考慮改用 suggest to sb sth。如：

我向他建議我們應(yīng)該用另一種方式處理這個(gè)問(wèn)題。

正：I suggested to him that we should tackle the problem another way.

誤：I suggested him that we should tackle the problem another way.

錯(cuò)點(diǎn)五 忽略相關(guān)派生名詞的相關(guān)用法

按英語(yǔ)習(xí)慣，suggest的派生名詞suggestion也具有與其詞根動(dòng)詞相似的用法，如當(dāng)suggestion表示“建議”時(shí)，若其后接一個(gè)that引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句，則該從句也習(xí)慣上要用“should+動(dòng)詞原形”這樣的虛擬語(yǔ)氣。如：

The suggestion that shops should open on Sundays led to a heated discussion. 關(guān)于商店星期日也應(yīng)該營(yíng)業(yè)的提議，引起了激烈的爭(zhēng)論。

There was a suggestion that Brown should be dropped from the team. 有一項(xiàng)建議是布朗應(yīng)該離隊(duì)。
