1. 表示“布”、“衣料”，是不可數(shù)名詞。如：
She bought some cloth to make herself a dress. 她買(mǎi)了些布要給自己做一件連衣裙。
再如：a piece of cloth(一塊布)，three yards of cloth(3碼布)，a roll of cloth(一卷布)等
2. 表示用作某種特殊用途的布(如：桌布，臺(tái)布，揩布等)，是可數(shù)名詞。如：

1. 表示“衣服”，是一個(gè)沒(méi)有單數(shù)形式的復(fù)數(shù)名詞，其前不可加不定冠詞，也不可加數(shù)詞，但可用 some, these, those, many, few等詞修飾。如：
正：those clothes / few clothes / many clothes
誤：a clothes / two clothes / three clothes
2. 可受定語(yǔ)修飾，表示不同用途的衣服。如：school clothes (校服)，sports clothes(運(yùn)動(dòng)服)，work(ing) clothes(工作服)等。
3. 表示一套衣服，通常借助 suit。如：a suit of clothes( 一套衣服)，two suits of clothes(二套衣服)等
◆clothing n.
1. 表示“衣服”的總稱(chēng)，是一個(gè)不可數(shù)的集合名詞。如：
They wear very little clothing. 他們衣服穿得很少。
We need warm clothing for the winter. 我們需要暖和的衣服過(guò)冬。
2. 表示一件衣服，通常用 article。如：
A coat is an article of clothing. 上衣是一件衣服。
注：有時(shí)也用 piece of, item of 等。如：
three pieces [items] of clothing 三件衣服
◆coffee n.
1. 表示“咖啡”，作為物名詞，是不可數(shù)的。如：
Would you like some more coffee? 要再來(lái)點(diǎn)咖啡嗎?
2. 表示咖啡的種類(lèi)，是可數(shù)名詞。如：
It’s a vey nice coffee. 那是一種很好的咖啡。
3. 表示“一杯咖啡”，等于 a cup of coffee, 是可數(shù)名詞。如：

◆cold n.
1. 表示“寒冷”，是不可數(shù)名詞。如：
She doesn’t seem to feel the cold. 她似乎不覺(jué)得冷。
Cold and heat succeed each other. 寒來(lái)暑往。
注：在 with cold(因?yàn)楹?這一短語(yǔ)中通常不用冠詞。如：
He died with cold. 他凍死了。
He was shivering with cold. 他冷得發(fā)抖。
2. 表示“感冒”、“傷風(fēng)”等，是可數(shù)名詞，不僅可用不定冠詞修飾、有復(fù)數(shù)形式，而且還可以受數(shù)詞的修飾。如：
Some people easily take colds. 有的人容易患感冒。
Most people have two or three colds a year. 大多數(shù)人一年患兩三次感冒。
3. 表示“感冒”時(shí)，在 have (got) a cold 這一詞組中 a 不能省略，但在 take (a) cold, catch (a) cold, get (a) cold 這類(lèi)表達(dá)中 a 卻可以省略。但是注意：即使是后一種情況，cold 若有了形容詞的修飾，則其中的 a 也不能省略。如：
誤:take (catch, get) bad cold
正:take (catch, get) a bad cold 患重感冒
