1. 主要表示偶然發(fā)生的意外事件或意外事故。如：
I’m sorry I broke the glass. It was an accident. 我很抱歉打破了玻璃杯，這完全是無(wú)意的。
About ten people were killed in the car accident. 在這次車(chē)禍中大約有10個(gè)人喪生。
2. 用于 by accident(偶然地)。如：
I only found it by accident. 我只是碰巧找到它的。
