1)advise sb. to do sth.

2)suggest doing sth.

He advised farmers to choose the best-heads.他勸告農(nóng)民要挑選最好的谷穗。

He suggested changing the plan.他建議改變這個(gè)計(jì)劃。

advise與suggest的用法不同

suggest表示“建議”“提議”以下用法。

(1)suggest后接名詞活動(dòng)名詞。例如：

They suggested a new plan to the principal.他們向校長提出了新的計(jì)劃。

He suggested going to Paris.她建議乘飛機(jī)去巴黎。

I suggested not telling lies to Alice.我建議不要向埃麗斯撒謊。

(2)suggest后接that從句，從句中謂語動(dòng)詞用虛擬語氣，即should+動(dòng)詞原形，也可以直接使用動(dòng)詞原形。例如：

Tom suggested that we(should) come the next Friday.湯姆建議我們下星期五來。

I suggested Jane visit the chemistry lab right away.我建議簡立即去看看化學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)室。

I suggested Jack(should) not wear the sweater.我建議杰克不要穿那件毛絨衫。

2)suggest表示“暗示，表明，使人聯(lián)想到”時(shí)，后面可以接名詞或從句，從句的謂語動(dòng)詞不要用虛擬語氣，例如：

I suggested that he was not suitable for the job.我暗示他說他不適合這項(xiàng)工作。

The dark clouds suggest rain.烏云預(yù)示著下雨。

有時(shí)在suggest后面的賓語從句中，謂語動(dòng)詞也有用其他形式的。例如：

I suggest that you don”t ask him for the vacation.我建議你不要讓他回來度假。

3)advise 后接名詞、動(dòng)名詞、不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)和從句等，advise后接從句時(shí)，從句的謂語動(dòng)詞用虛擬語氣，即should+動(dòng)詞原形，should可以省略。

例如：

The doctor advised more exercise.醫(yī)生建議多運(yùn)動(dòng)。

advise與suggest相同點(diǎn)

兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞都有“建議”之意，并且二者都可接+that?clause

We wish to advise you that you now owe the bank $500.你現(xiàn)欠銀行五百美元,特此通知。

I suggested that it would be quicker to travel by train. 我建議說坐火車旅行要快一些。
