九型人格緣起于公元前二千五百年巴比倫帝國的一個叫蘇菲(Sufis)的部落。直到二十世紀初才被西方人意識,九型人格中八號領袖型孩子的培育要點，重要分為兩個流派，一派強調有點神秘顏色的靈修,8號領袖型保護者的自我提升法，另一派則較學術,忠誠型,九型性格學的魅力，融會西方心理學實踐。

　　4.) Romantic -> I am unique.

　　5.) Thinker -> I need to understand the world.

　　6.) Skeptic -> I am affectionate and skeptical.

　　7.) Enthusiast -> I am happy and open to new things.

　　8.) Leader -> I must be strong.

　　9.) Peacemaker -> I am at peace.
