寫作是一項能夠充分考查學生語言綜合運用能力的題型，也是中考中失分較多的一題。不少考生在練習英語寫作時不得法，又苦于找不到提高的有效途徑。縱觀近年各地中考英語寫作題，題材一般是寫人、寫事、寫物、寫景、日記、書信、通知、便條等文體。一般來說，不同的寫作題材，它的人物，時間，寫作的重點也是不盡相同的，但學生在寫作過程中所犯的錯誤卻基本一致。筆者在批閱2007年中考英語作文中發(fā)現(xiàn)諸多考生的作文出現(xiàn)了這樣那樣的問題，我們先看下面考生的作文.

　　例： （2007年山東棗莊）以“Chinese Spring Festival”為題，寫一篇短文。

　　Chinese Spring Festival

　　The Spring Festival is China’s importantest① festival. It’s the longest holidays②. Most people go back home to get together with their families③.

　　Before the festival，people are busy prepare④ for it- buying things and cleaning the houses.On the night⑤，the whole family usually celebrate it，for example，they always playing firecrackers，eating delicious foods， watching TV and playing mah-jong and so on.During the festival， they visit friends and relatives， saying “Happy New Year” to each other，and go to park or temple fairs together .People also put on new clothes，and they say “Happy New Year” to each other，visit friends and relatives and go to park or temple fairs⑥. On New Year’s Day ， people often eat delicious food jiaozi. Jiaozi can be made by most people including the old and the kids。
