A group of swans flew down to a beach where a crow was jumping around. The crow watched them and looked down on their flying.
“You have no flying skills at all!” he said to the swans. “All you can do is to move your wings. Can you turn over in the air? No, that’s beyond you. Let’s have a flying competition. I’ll show you what real flying is! ”
One of the swans, a strong young male, took up the challenge. The crow flew up and began to show his skills. He flew in circles, performed other flying tricks, and then came down and looked proudly at the swan.
Now it was the swan’s turn. He flew up, and began flying over the sea. The crow flew after him, making all kinds of comments (評價) about his flying. They flew on and on till they couldn’t see the land and there was nothing but water on all sides. The crow was making fewer and fewer comments. He was so exhausted that he found it hard to stay in the air, and had to struggle to keep himself from falling into the water.
The swan pretended not to notice, and said, “ Why do you keep touching the water, brother? Is that another trick?”“ No ,”said the crow. He knew he had lost the competition. “ I’m in trouble because of my pride ! If you don’t help me , I’ll lose my life… ”

The Taj Mahal (泰姬陵) is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world and the finest example of the late style of Indian architecture(建筑). It is at Agra in northern India. It lies beside the River Jumna in the middle of gardens with quiet pools.
The Taj Mahal was built by the Mogul emperor Shah Jehan, who ruled India in the seventeenth century. It is in memory of his favorite wife, Arjumand Banu Bagam, known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. The building, which was completed between 1632 and 1638, was designed by a local Muslim architect, Ustad Ahmad Lahori. The whole building for Mumtaz Mahal, with gardens and gateway structures, was completed in 1643. The Taj Mahal stands at one end of the garden tomb with marble (大理石) path. The room is softly lighted by the light that passes through double screens of carved marble set high in the walls. The building now is kept in good condition.
Shah Jehan continued to build the Taj Mahal. He planned a similar building for him, but in black instead of white, to lie on the other side of the river. But before it could be built, Shah Jehan was put into prison by his son and buried(埋葬) next to his wife in the Taj Mahal.

I remember my math teacher Mr. Young very well. He stood out because the kids made fun of him. He missed one of his fingers, and always pointed at students with his middle finger.
I was not very good at English and math. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not know why I did not understand what all the other kids found so easy to learn.
One day, I was told that if I got one more E on my report card, I would be taken to the “big prison for kids”. I tried really hard for weeks. I just couldn’t understand how to make different parts of numbers into whole things.
The day before report cards were to come out, I knew that Mr. Young would give me an E, just like he always did. I went to Mr. Young and told him that the orphanage (孤兒院) was going to send me to the big prison if I got another E on my report card. He told me there was nothing he could do; it would be unfair to the other kids if he gave me a better grade than I had actually earned. I smiled at him and said, “Mr. Young, do you know how the kids make fun of you because of your missing finger?” He looked at me, moved his mouth to one side and said nothing.
“They shouldn’t do that to you because you can’t help not having a finger, Mr. Young. Just like I can’t help not being able to learn numbers and stuff like that,” I said.
The next day, when I got my report card, I tucked it into one of my books. While on the school bus, I opened it: Geography, B+; Mechanical Drawing, C-; English, D-; History, C-; Gym, B+; Art, C; Math, D-.
That math grade was the most favorite one I ever received. Because I knew that someone in the world finally understood what it was like for me to be missing a finger inside my head.

C. he missed one of his fingers D. he was bad-tempered

68. What grade should the boy have got in the math test this time?
A. D-. B. C. C. B+. D. E.
69. The underlined word “tucked” in the passage most probably means “________”.
A. stuck B. listed C. hid D. copied
70. The reason why the boy remembers Mr Young is that ______.
A. he missed one of his fingers B. he treated his students very well
