whose 在定語從句中的用法
whose 是定語從句中一個常用的關(guān)系代詞,表“ …… 的”之意;它可以指“人的”,也可以指“物的”;既可以引導(dǎo)限制性定語從句,也可以引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。
例句:I have got a friend whose father is a policeman.
我有一個朋友,他爸爸是一名警察。

四、語法講解
關(guān)系代詞whose是who的所有格形式,在定語從句中作定語,既可修飾人也可修飾物。
如:The cup whose lid I have lost is still nice. 那只被我丟了蓋子的杯子仍舊很好看。
(whose修飾先行詞cup, 在從句中作定語)
The house whose windows are green is worth 200,000 yuan. 那座綠色窗戶的房子值二十萬元。
(whose修飾先行詞house,在從句中作定語)
【拓展延伸】
1. 如果先行詞指人,“whose+名詞”可以改為“the+名詞+of whom”。如:
The girl the father of whom is a teacher studies very well.
= The girl whose father is a teacher studies very well. 父親是教師的那個女孩學(xué)習(xí)非常好。
2. 如果先行詞指物,“whose+名詞”可以改為“the+名詞+of which”。如:
He lives in the room the door of which faces south.
= He lives in the room whose door faces south. 他住在房門朝南的那個房間。

結(jié)論:定語從句的引導(dǎo)詞與兩點(diǎn)有關(guān),一是先行詞,二是引導(dǎo)詞在定語從句中的作用。如果引導(dǎo)詞在定語從句中作定語,就要用whose。
