【背景知識(shí)】
美國(guó)是機(jī)器人的誕生地,早在1962年就研制出世界上第一臺(tái)工業(yè)機(jī)器人,比起號(hào)稱"機(jī)器人王國(guó)"的日本起步至少要早五六年。經(jīng)過(guò)30多年的發(fā)展,美國(guó)現(xiàn)已成為世界上的機(jī)器人強(qiáng)國(guó)之一 ,其技術(shù)全面、先進(jìn),適應(yīng)性也很強(qiáng)。具體表現(xiàn)在:
(1)性能可靠,功能全面,精確度高;
(2)機(jī)器人語(yǔ)言研究發(fā)展較快,語(yǔ)言類型多、應(yīng)用廣,水平高居世界之首;
(3)智能技術(shù)發(fā)展快,其視覺(jué)、觸覺(jué)等人工智能技術(shù)已在航天、汽車(chē)工業(yè)中廣泛應(yīng)用;
(4)高智能、高難度的軍用機(jī)器人、太空機(jī)器人等發(fā)展迅速,主要用于掃雷、布雷、偵察、站崗及太空探測(cè)方面。
此外法國(guó),德國(guó),日本,前蘇聯(lián)在這一方面也有突出表現(xiàn)。
我國(guó)已在“七五”計(jì)劃中把機(jī)器人列人國(guó)家重點(diǎn)科研規(guī)劃內(nèi)容,撥巨款在沈陽(yáng)建立了全國(guó)第一個(gè)機(jī)器人研究示范工程,全面展開(kāi)了機(jī)器人基礎(chǔ)理論與基礎(chǔ)元器件研究。十幾年來(lái),相繼研制出示教再現(xiàn)型的搬運(yùn)、點(diǎn)焊、弧焊、噴漆、裝配等門(mén)類齊全的工業(yè)機(jī)器人及水下作業(yè)、軍用和特種機(jī)器人。目前,示教再現(xiàn)型機(jī)器人技術(shù)已基本成熟,并在工廠中推廣應(yīng)用。我國(guó)自行生產(chǎn)的機(jī)器人噴漆流水線在長(zhǎng)春第一汽車(chē)廠及東風(fēng)汽車(chē)廠投入運(yùn)行。1986年3月開(kāi)始的國(guó)家863高科技發(fā)展規(guī)劃已列入研究、開(kāi)發(fā)智能機(jī)器人的內(nèi)容。就目前來(lái)看,我們應(yīng)從生產(chǎn)和應(yīng)用的角度出發(fā),結(jié)合我國(guó)國(guó)情,加快生產(chǎn)結(jié)構(gòu)簡(jiǎn)單、成本低廉的實(shí)用型機(jī)器人和某些特種機(jī)器人。

Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Warm-up: To raise students’ interest, get students thinking and talking about robots:

Step 2: welcome to the unit
1. The purpose of this part is to activate student’s knowledge of robots and generate interests of this topic. Ask one student to read the phrases in the word box. 一、閱讀方法

二、背景知識(shí)
機(jī)器人是一種自動(dòng)化機(jī)器。它被設(shè)計(jì)用來(lái)代替人類完成各種作業(yè),并在很多方面擴(kuò)展人類的能力。Robot這個(gè)詞來(lái)源于捷克語(yǔ)robota,意思是“強(qiáng)迫勞動(dòng)”。機(jī)器人技術(shù)在生活中的很多領(lǐng)域中使用,最普遍的是在制造業(yè)。
近來(lái)許多公司都在設(shè)計(jì)和開(kāi)發(fā)能幫助主人干家務(wù)的新型機(jī)器人。這些機(jī)器人比過(guò)去小得多,卻有更多的功能。在不久的將來(lái),我們極可能擁有能為我們干一切家務(wù)雜活的家用機(jī)器人。最新的機(jī)器人是“智能化的”,其感應(yīng)器“眼睛”可以感知周?chē)h(huán)境,防止自己撞上其他東西。雖然大多數(shù)人希望機(jī)器人為我們做些日,嵤,但很多科學(xué)小說(shuō)卻警告機(jī)器人會(huì)變得太聰明而主宰世界。

Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Review object clauses introduced by “if or whether” and “that”. Explain that these clauses relate to “yes/no” questions.

Step 2:Tell students that when object clauses relate to ‘wh-’ questions, we should use ‘wh-’ words to introduce object clauses. Ask students to read the grammar rules and the two examples at the top.
Step 3: Remind them that the clauses should be introduced by ‘wh-’ words and the word order in the clause should be the same as in the statements.
