引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句的“一……就”英語中有許多詞和短語可用以引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句，表示“一……就……”，它們雖不是連詞，但具有連詞的功能。這些詞歸納起來，主要有以下幾類：

一、名詞類這類詞主要有the moment, the minute, the second, the instant, the day 等。如：The moment I saw him I knew there was no hope. 我一看到他就知道沒希望了。我一看到他就知道沒希The instant he opened the door he saw the thief. 他一開門就看見了這個賊。He is going to visit his aunt the day he arrives in Beijing. 他一到北京，就去看他姨媽。

二、副詞類這類詞主要有immediately, directly, instantly, once 等。如：Once he arrives, we can start. 他一來我們就可以開始。Immediately he came I told him the news. 他一來我就把消息告訴了他。

三、句型類這類詞主要有no sooner…than, hardly…when等。如：We had no sooner set out than it began to rain. 我們剛出發(fā)就下雨了。She had hardly arrived when it began to snow. 她剛到就下起雪來了。注：若將 no sooner, hardly 置于句首，則其后要用倒裝語序。如：
We had no sooner reached the airport than the plane took off.
=No sooner had we reached the airport than the plane took off.
我們剛到機(jī)場，飛機(jī)就起飛了。
